International Women’s Day - Because Waiting Another Century For Change Isn’t an Option

Ah, International Women's Day, our favourite! It's also an annual reminder that while progress is happening, it's not happening fast enough. This year's theme is "Accelerate Action," and at The Female CEO, we're ready to go.

I know that change takes time (which, let's be honest, is not my strong suit), but at the current rate, we're looking at over a century to close the gender gap. A century.

Not on our watch.

We've been pushing, pulling, and outright hustling to carve out spaces where women in business, leadership, and life don't just survive, they own their space. And that's exactly what IWD is about - amplifying, celebrating, and sometimes giving the world a much-needed shove in the right direction.

So, what does accelerating action actually look like?

For us, it's about having a seat at the table and flipping the whole damn thing if necessary. It's knowing that if women were backed financially at the same rate as our male counterparts, we could add £250 billion to the UK economy. It's understanding that when we collaborate instead of compete, we create thriving communities where success isn't a solo journey but a shared experience. That's not just powerful; that's game-changing.

Let's keep the momentum going for this International Women's Day.

Show up. Speak out. Make space. Whether it's mentoring a woman who's just starting out, buying from women-led businesses, or simply reminding another woman that she is already more than enough (because imposter syndrome is a lying little gremlin), every action counts.

It's time to put the pedal to the metal. The world isn't going to change itself,but together, we will.
