The Female CEO Hits 50 Issues: A Milestone in Female Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Community.
By Tricia Scott.
Wow, can you believe it? Fifty issues of The Female CEO magazine! It feels like just yesterday that I was (very) nervously hitting 'publish' on our first edition, unsure of where this adventure would take us. And now, here we are, bigger, wiser (for sure) and more inspired than ever.
If you've been here on this wild ride from the start, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sticking around and sharing in this journey. If you're new to the tribe, a big warm welcome! You're joining a vibrant and, quite frankly, unstoppable community of women ALL about lifting each other, sharing stories, and smashing through the barriers that come with running a business (or two, or three, because we are the absolute queens of juggling, after all).
In The Beginning
It's ridiculous to think how far we've come since the early days. The Female CEO - Create Evolve Overcome was born out of a desire to create something meaningful—a space where women could gather to support one another, learn, and share the realities of entrepreneurship and somewhere with no barrier to gaining the information and inspiration you need when starting out (and we would know a thing or five about that!)
It certainly wasn't about perfection; it was about connection. The magazine element of the business came later (in addition to the website) to get the invaluable information you asked for into your hands without having to conform to social media algorithms or wait for permission to publish. As we know, patience is not this leader's strong point.
I wanted to create a magazine that was real, relatable, and a little bit rebellious. After all, you can't expect to play by someone else's rules when carving your own path, can you? Every day, every journey and every person is different, and that's a superpower money can't buy. Imagine how much we could learn from each other if we only stopped believing there was one 'right' path to success.
In those early days, it was all about figuring things out as we went along. There was no grand master plan, just a whole lot of passion, community spirit, and a healthy dose of 'let's see where this takes us!' And you know what? It actually worked!
The Power of the Collective
Over the past 50 issues, as a business and an editorial team, we've had the absolute privilege (the world's biggest understatement) of sharing the stories of so many incredible people. From founders who've built empires from scratch to those who've pivoted, adapted, and redefined what success looks like for them, this magazine has been an all-out celebration of the realities of women in business and what's become abundantly clear along the way is that no matter where you are on your journey, whether you're just starting or are years deep into entrepreneurship, the strength and wisdom of a supportive community is priceless.
It's been an honour to connect with our readers, contributors, sponsors and partners, each of whom has left their unique mark on these pages. Every comment, shared post, DM and email has reminded us that we're all in this together. There's something truly magical about women supporting women—it's why we've made it to issue 50, and it will continue to propel us forward way into the future.
Lessons We've Learned (And Laughed At)
Now, let's be real —running a magazine isn't all glossy covers and perfectly worded features (trust me). There has been plenty of behind-the-scenes ridiculousness, endless cups of coffee, lessons learned, and face-planting 'why didn't we think of that sooner?' moments, but it's all been part of the journey. From last-minute layout changes to tech hiccups and all-out disasters, we've definitely learned to laugh, pivot when necessary, and trust that things will fall into place as long as we keep moving forward.
One of the biggest lessons throughout has been that progress is better than perfection. I've learned the value of showing up, even when you're not feeling 100%, that it's okay (if not necessary) to take a breather, recharge, and come back stronger and most importantly, that no dream is too big if you've got a team that believes in the collective vision (and a whole lot of grit and glitter).
Looking Ahead
So, what's next? Well, if the first 50 issues have taught me anything, it's that we're only just getting started. We have big plans to give you even more affordable space to share your work and be seen, bold ideas to propel us headfirst into the next chapter and, of course, more incredible stories to share with you. We're here to continue to amplify the fantastic work you're all doing, providing inspiration, resources, and a supportive space for all your entrepreneurial dreams to thrive.
As I look forward to the next chapter, Team CEO wants to thank YOU—our readers, contributors, and friends—for being the heartbeat of The Female CEO. You've made this journey more incredible than I could have ever imagined.
A Final Note
Whether you've been with us from day one or have only just discovered us, I'm so glad you're here as we celebrate this milestone. Remember that every success story, every lesson learned, and every reality shared within these pages belongs to all of us because The Female CEO isn't just a magazine—it's a movement, and i'm so excited to keep moving forward with you.
Here's to celebrating where we've been, where we are, and where we're headed because together, we can do anything.
We believe in you (always).
